Welcome to the first annual Holo-Grammys!
When you go to a concert would you be disappointed if the people on stage weren’t people at all? What if the real performers were there, just in the shadows playing musical puppeteer to a digital avatar? This is where some “live” performances are headed.
The Japanese have an interesting fascination with this technology and have even created a “virtual” concert where a holo-performer is the star named “Hatsune Miku” (link below). Kate moss appeared as a “holo-model” at the McQueen Fall/Winter 2006 runway show. And the Gorillaz have done an awesome job of bringing their fictional band members to life on stage for several events, but it proved too expensive to take the holo-show on tour. I can’t wait to see where this technology takes the “live” entertainment world as it improves.
