3D was still the hot new technology heavily showcased at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Most everyone now has seen it or owns a 3D television themselves. There is a new 3D technology I am actually very excited about. It’s called Laser Plasma Emission Technology, which hovers in the air. You can see it in action for yourself on YouTube here.

A high power laser targets ambient gas molecules and causes ionization of those gas molecules. This ionization is called plasma and is accompanied with a blue white light emission. The laser actually separates the electrons from the nucleus of the atom, which consists of protons and neutrons. The separation of the electrons is what causes the light. For now it is very dangerous and is compared to creating lighting in a room. I want one!
