Why Should Wireless Networking Alliances Like DASH7 Matter to Everyone?

DASH7 Alliance is changing the way we interact with technology, radio frequency identification, location based services, retailers, next generation check-ins (think FourSquare and Facebook on steroids), the auto industry, home automation, and nearly every aspect of our day to day lives.

The next time you receive a package from overseas delivered to your home by FedEx, or UPS, there’s a very good chance it was tracked using real time location services, and RFID Tags from the time it left the port or terminal to the time it was delivered to the distribution warehouse using a wireless network technology like DASH7.

Imagine walking into a Starbuck’s and being immediately recognized from a mobile app you have on your phone by the check in system and team members behind the counter on a monitor that told them that you ordered a Tall Pike’s Place the last five times. All they have to do now is pour your drink, charge your MasterCard they have on file, and call your name to pick it up. Or, what if you’re visiting your favorite mall and, as you walk into the store you frequent the most, your Amex smartcard or key fob is recognized by an RFID Reader and pulls up data about your recent purchases on a monitor at the checkout counter. A staff member casually greets you by name, offers you bottled water, and reminds you to look at your phone to see the specialized discounts created just for you. Both of these examples are in effect right now using DASH7 wireless technology throughout the country.

The benefits of DASH7 Alliance is that the members (including Principal Member Aniden Interactive) frequently interact and communicate with each other about their experiences, products, technologies, UI/UX, networks, associations, successes, failures, and anything else that helps to move DASH7 into the world faster, greener, and more effectively.

The wireless frequency that DASH7 uses is 433.92 MHz. It can travel up to ten kilometers and penetrates walls, water, and concrete.
